CERTIFIERS AND CERTIFICATIONS

The external body that officially certifies all processes in the PDO Parma Ham production chain is CSQA.

Furthermore, as Gallina Mario SpA, the quality in the supply chain of products to our customers is certified by DNV GL, which has been confirming our suitability to B.R.C., I.F.S., ISO 22000 and ISO 22005 standards for several years.

B.R.C. certification, an acronym for British Retail Consortium, aims to standardise the working environment by setting out the controls to be carried out on the product and the process. The aim is to produce good processing standards and an efficient management system, acting as a quality food certification.

I.F.S. certification is shared between the French and German large-scale retail food chains and requires suppliers in the chain to comply with certain hygiene standards and good practices in production processes to guarantee a good level of product safety and quality.

ISO 22000 certification: a standard designed to harmonise food safety management requirements for companies within the food chain. This standard combines and integrates the core elements of ISO 9001 and HACCP to provide an effective framework for the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of a documented Food Safety Management System in the context of the organisation’s overall business risks.

ISO 22005 certification: a standard that transposes the rules on ‘Food Product Traceability Systems’ and applies them to the entire agri-food sector. It is built on the organisation’s ability to establish rules oriented towards: quality, food safety and traceability.
